"It's two words. First word, Finding ... second word, second word .... SUPERMAN! No wait, Clark! Yes, Finding Clark!" says Ashley, drummer of Anchorage band Finding Clark. "Sounds great!" says Michael breifly before he hangs up and goes on to more important things. About nine months ago, three guys, looking for a real good emo-sounding name, came up with the band Finding Clark. A soft, melodic sound, and recently mixed with great violin playing. Members, Ashley, Michael, Andy, and Libby have known each other for years and went to the same schools, they also enjoy a lot of the same music and bands, such as Thursday, Dashboard Confessinal, Taking Back Sunday, Blindside and Yellow Card. That makes this emo-group of four perfect for each other. Michael, lead singer and guitar, focuses on the band Thursday while playing and singing, keeping him on track and in the mood, Ashley (drummer) thinks of girls, and we'll just leave it at that; Libby (violin) stated that she "thinks of Dashboard Confessional," when she sings and Andy (bass) is just plain unispired. I've only seen Finding Clark live, once, but I highly recommend checking them out. Multi-talented Libby plays every instrument under the sun, Michael plays guitar and banjo, and Ashley plays the kazoo, need lessons? Talk to Ashley. I asked them what they might want to do with these talents, and they replied rock stardom, perform in front of millions of screaming fans and make lots of dough. All in all, Finding Clark is a band full of extremely nice people who occasionally trip over things in movie theatres. Visit www.findingclark.com |
